Obituary of Ruth Ann Stone

Ruth Ann Stone, 63, of LaBelle, PA, passed away on Thursday, March 1, 2018, at J. W. Ruby Memorial Hospital.

Ruth was born in Brownsville, PA, on May 18, 1954, the daughter of the late father, James William Lutz, Sr., and mother, Opal Virginia Ross.

Ruth proudly served in the U. S. Army as Sargent. Her career consisted of working as a bookkeeper at HRDF, Inc., for many years and then went on to work in the Accounting Department at Lakeview Resort. She loved to travel and volunteered many hours to the Heart Association with long time friend Diana Gilleland.

Ruth is survived by her mother, Opal Lutz; son Kenneth Stone and his partner, Scott Riemann; step sons Gerald Stone and Thomas Stone; siblings James Lutz, Jr., and Rose Smith and husband, Gary; an uncle and an aunt Frank and Minnie Ross; as well as many cousins and friends.

In addition to her father, Ruth was predeceased by her husband of 29 years, Richard Stone.

Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown, on Sunday, March 4th from 3-6 pm and again on Monday, March 5th from 10 am until the time of the funeral service at 11 am with Pastor Dan Meadows officiating.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation will follow the funeral service and private inurnment will take place at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens at a later date.
