Hello.....I am a WI high school classmate (1960) of Brooks. I remember him well. He was our football team trainer, and as important a member of our great team as any of us. He was so dedicated and we all loved him.
I share my condolence with his family, but rejoice that he is now in the presence of our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ...for ever in perfect harmony forever.

I worked with Dr Gainer at Mon General Hospital for many years as the Director of Respiratory Care. To me he was a very humble and caring man, and very considerate to his patients and the staff he worked with. He always had a great smile and a friendly greeting when you ran in to him. I consider it a blessing and a privilege to have know him. He will be missed but not forgotten.

My deepest sympathy to the entire family. I wish I was able to meet my cousin in person.
From what I have heard, if he was anything like his Aunt Eva, He was a real gem!
So sorry for your loss.....my thoughts and prayers go out to you all.

Was just talking to Brooks a few weeks ago.
He wanted me to look him up when I came down to the basketball games.
What a great guy. Very respectful, Will definitely be missed.
My Prayers are for a comforting spirit for his family at this time.

Dr. Gainer saved my life. I was very very ill with blood poisoning. He knew exactly what to do and how to treat my illness. I spent three weeks in the hospital under his care. I don't think I would be here today. I'm saddened by his passing.

It has been a rough 24 hours since I learned from Kristin that Brooks had left us so suddenly. What a special boy and man he was. Those of us who knew him at Washington Irving High School realized even then that he had his feet on a path toward a life of service to others. It's not just that he was "Trainer Gainer" to our athletes; he was kind and giving to all of us. In later years, he went on to be a doctor and a volunteer in his community, a loving father and a devoted husband. He found the love of his life in Suzanne, and her loss was devastating. Last August, I had the privilege of sitting with Brooks and Suzanne at our high school class dinner. We shared memories, laughed at our foibles and looked forward to many more reunions. How could we have known that it was our last time together? Had we known, would we have shared more? Laughed more? Taken the time to really hug each other and say what kind thoughts we had? I feel heartbroken, but I take comfort in knowing they are together in eternity and in celebrating such extraordinary lives. Let us each cherish the days left to us and say those kind words to one another when we can.
