Obituary of Juanita Carol Hertzog
Juanita C. "Sis" Kennedy Hertzog, 71, of Morgantown, passed away Thursday, February 21st at Mon Health Medical Center. She was born February 9, 1948, in Morgantown, a daughter of the late John Edgar Kennedy and Lillian Virginia Hertzog Kennedy Jenkins.
She was a member of the Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church. She worked for many years making furniture and finished her career locally working at Walls Cabinets. She loved all sports, especially the Mountaineers and loved being outside.
She is survived by her siblings, David Kennedy, Butch Kennedy, Gail "Noel" Kennedy, Beverly Swearingen, and Tim Jenkins; adopted sibling, Donald Hertzog; several nieces and nephews including special nieces, Lillie Mae Nicholson and Shiela Kennedy-Stiles and her sons Cody and Sean Stiles; cousins, four grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her three God Children, Sheila Graham, Buddy Allred, and Michael Allred; and her two best friends, Brenda Hendershot and Donna Allred.
In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her adopted parents, Fredrick and Vernie Hertzog; siblings, Roger Kennedy, Rick, Fred Hertzog, James Hertzog, Ed Hertzog, Deb Hose, and David Hertzog; and one nephew, Bruce Hertzog; and step-dad, William E. Jenkins.
Friends and family will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, on Saturday, February 23rd from 4-8 PM and Sunday, February 24th from 12 Noon until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 PM with Pastor Lynda Masters officiating. A private family committal will take place at a later time at East Oak Grove Cemetery.
