Obituary of Jacqueline Ann Johnson
Jacqueline Ann Johnson, a loving; daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and "GiGi", 88, of Morgantown passed peacefully on February 27, surrounded by her family at Mapleshire Nursing Home.
She was born on October 18, 1930 the daughter of the late Thomas L. and Ruby (Anderson) Perry.
Jackie grew up as one of five sisters at Carysbrooke Farm in Stephens City, Va. After moving to Morgantown she ran the Dellslow grocery store with her husband Harry. Her love of antiques really grew over the years and she spent the remainder of her life involved around them. Jackie was a member of Rock Forge Presbyterian Church for many years. She also enjoyed flower gardening and doll collecting.
She is survived by her son, Harry (Johnny) Johnson, II and wife Diane of Morgantown, WV; daughters, Susan Wills of Rupert, WV, Sherry Whitacre of Winchester, VA; and a step-daughter Raylene DeLeon of Morgantown. Granddaughters Stacey Sylvester and Courtney Nickell. Step grandchildren Christian, Daniel, and Lian DeLeon. Great-grandchildren Bradyen and Hudson Sylvester and Addisyn, Aveny and Anderson Nickell. Three loving sisters; Patricia Iacone, Faye Gustella, and Judy DeCristofaro.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister Mary P. Bolen, of Winchester, Va. and her loving husband of 24 years Harry Johnson. Harry was a WWII Veteran and army recruiter in Winchester Va., where he and Jackie met.
The family would like to give a special thank you to those at Mapleshire Nursing Home for their hard work and care during the recent weeks. Also, a special thanks to Hastings Funeral Home for their outstanding care.
Family and friends will be received at the Clubhouse Grill at the Pines Country Club, 3062 Point Marion Rd, Morgantown, WV 26508 for a celebration of life on Saturday, March 23, at 2:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Jacqueline's memory to Rock Forge Presbyterian Church and the food pantry at PO Box 1027, Dellslow, WV 26531.
