Obituary of Leo Joy Snider
Leo Joy "Junior" Snider, Jr., 88, of Morgantown, went to be with his wife and Lord and Savior on Tuesday, April 2, 2019.
Junior was born in Morgantown, on July 3, 1930, son of the late Leo Joy and Nellie Mae Dalton Snider.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked as a mechanic for 45 years at several garages around Morgantown. He also was a custodian at the Mountaineer Mall for 18 years. He was a member of Hope Church Ministries and loved singing old gospel hymns.
Junior is survived by one sister, Judith Matthews, of Virginia; his children: Denver Snider and wife Melissa, Richard Snider and wife Stephanie, Marsha Bissett and husband David, Brian Snider and wife Dodie; sister-in-laws, Lois Hart, Shirley Snider; grandchildren: Jason Smith, Seth Huggins, Cody Bissett, Garrett Bissett, Kira Nicholson, and Kyle Snider; and great-grandchild, Mariah Bissett.
In addition to his parents, Junior is preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Lucille Snider; one son, DeWayne Snider; granddaughter, Andrea Snider Hovatter, who passed shortly before him; and siblings, Victor Snider, Virgil Snider, Donald Snider, and Dorothy McCormick.

Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, on Friday, April 5th, from 3 - 8 p.m. and again on Saturday, April 6th, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. with Pastor Allen Donham officiating assisted by Pastor Donna Dalton. Interment will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery where he will be laid to rest with his granddaughter.
