Obituary of Virgil Ed Boone

Virgil Edwin Boone, 62, passed away on Monday, October 14, 2019, at Garrett Memorial Hospital in Oakland, MD. Ed was born in Morgantown, WV, son of Barbara Riley Boone and the late Virgil Boone.

Ed was a graduate of Morgantown High School class of 1975. He was a member of Local Union 152, Morgantown, WV, Plumbers and Pipefitters. He was voted into the position of business manager for Local Union 152 and held that position for 15 years. He was elected International Representative and then appointed Director of Jurisdiction, which was the position he held until his death, living in Annapolis, Maryland.

Ed and Dee were married on June 24, 1978, and Dee felt she married her best friend and together had their own special love story. He was known as an avid hunter and sportsman.

Surviving family includes his mother, Barbara Boone; sisters Linda Zannier and Cathie Boone and companion, Richard Morris; nieces and nephews: Alison Seay, Christopher Zannier and wife, Jennifer, Cory Shope and wife, April, Brandy Corob and Sommer Shope; great-nieces and nephews: Ian and Sydney Seay, Kylie and Paige Corob, Aiden and Bella Shope and Makayla Golden; best friend Joe Trentini; special family Peggy and Donna Sottile, and many special friends from Plumbers and Pipefitters organization.

He was preceded in death by his father, Virgil Boone; father and mother-in-law, John and Helen Shope; brothers-in-law, Junior Zannier and David, and Donald Shope.

According to his wishes, there will be no visitation and cremation services will be provided by Hastings Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ed's memory to The Gettysburg Foundation, 1195 Baltimore Pike, Gettysburg, PA 17325.
