Oh Kevin, I am SO sorry to hear of your mom's passing. Periodically I check the Warren obituaries and was shocked to see your mom's just now. My heart goes out to you, Deb, Jason and your family / extended family. Cherish the wonderful memories you shared. I know you were close - I can't imagine the loss you are feeling right now ...
Love and hugs to you and Deb,
Madalyn (Scardamaglia Godlewski)

Soft as Silk and Hard as Nails. That is how I would define any McChesney. Bill and Joyce were all that and more. Their self education was impressive and I admired that.. I worked for them many many moons ago at the mill. They wanted things done fast, right and neat. They were the perfect practice for my Oil Field career that came next. Later I was Joyce's insurance agent and we talked a lot. She minced no words and expected things well ordered. I respected her for her knowledge and candor. Nothing much lasts forever but I really hated to see the farm and property be sold. But I understood. Bill passed and Joyce was alone taking care of much. It was time for her to slow down and plant a garden or whatever she felt like doing. She earned it.
An era has passed with her and Bill being gone. I have to say this world of 2020 was not their world. Their world was working hard for what they had and fighting to keep it. Plain and simple. They did a great job being the caretaker of some 1200 acres of Spring Creek while raising two boys. Jason and Kevin, your parents were true Americana. I hope you look back on your years on the farm with great pride in your parents and your roots on the farm in Spring Creek.
When I turned 18 my Dad took me to the mill. Bill and Dad sat on a wood pile for 10 minutes and I stayed in the car. I asked what was said. I was told I had a job starting next day at 7.00 sharp and that my father asked your Dad to "work my butt off"
I believe Bill said that would not be a problem:)
Best Wishes to you both!
