Even before I was a member of the Smith family, my parents were close friends of Pat and Brooks. I remember one day in the early 70s when she consoled me at the unexpected death of my dear uncle. I never forgot her kind words. Later we would become sorority sisters when I joined Pi Beta Phi at WVU, and then she became my mother-in-law when I married her dear son, Mike. She opened her arms and heart to me and treated me like a beloved daughter. And I couldn't have had a better mentor and sponsor than Pat when I converted to Catholicism. She was an adored grandmother who enjoyed passing on her love of golf to our three sons. We were all so blessed to have her in our lives as long as we did and we know that she was welcomed into Heaven by our Lord and Savior. God Bless You, Pat,

Truly a remarkable woman with the brightest smile and great sense of humor. Her obituary says it all! She was a warm loving kind human being and if more were like her this world would be a much better place. Prayers and condolences to the entire family, she is in God's hands now.

Early in our marriage, we moved to Kingwood, West Virginia. That 30year experience was high lighted by the friendship of Pat Smith and her late husband, Brooks. She was always very kind and generous; plus, her welcoming personality made us feel right at home. So we feel happy and grateful to remember sharing many good times at holiday family gatherings and special occasions with Pat. Memories of Pat
To have had the pleasure of knowing Pat for many years was truly one of life’s pleasures that doesn’t happen often.
She was one of the happiest, friendliest, quick witted, and caring people you could ever meet.
She always had room for one or five more at her table and what a fabulous cook and hostess she was!!!
Her flower gardens were something to see. The flowers must have responded to her humming as she tended them. Inside,
Pat had an array of orchids that could match those displayed in a florist shoppe.
Pat’s faith helped keep her strong and focused during difficult times that life had in store. She always found a way to look on the bright side.
Yes, we have fond memories of Pat and she will forever be remembered and admired by us.
