Raymond Solario, 83, of Morgantown, Passed away peacefully December 7th with his family by his side. He was born February 28th 1937, the son of the late Carmen Moreno Solorio and Louis Rogis Solorio. Raymond was born in the small coal mining area of Bertha Hill WV. As a child he enjoyed playing sports, boxing also played in the band. After graduating from University High School, Raymond enlisted in the United States Marine Corp where he proudly served 7 years with honorable discharge. He continued being a marine all his life. Raymond enjoyed boxing and playing basketball while in the Marines. He was a marksman shooter he also enjoyed going to other countries during his military time. After coming home from his service to his country, Raymond worked for RC bottling company , Bell Wholesale and Coca Cola company, from where he retired. Raymond liked to watch westerns, wrestling, football and was an avid WVU fan. Raymond enjoyed nightly evening meals with sister Margaret and holiday time with family. He enjoyed playing the lottery with nephew Bob Mills and spending time with his many nieces and nephews. He was always a kind gentle mannered man that enjoyed a simple life filled family and friends. Wherever he went he always made a new friend. Raymond is survived by three sisters Alicia Blosser of Aarons Creek, Margaret Mills of Wiles Hill, Ann Christopher of Bruceton Mills and one brother Mike Solario of Napa CA. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by brother Louis Solorio; sisters Mary Joseph and Vicky Lazzelle. Raymond had a long time companion Elizabeth Chunderlik who passed in 1998. He is survived by his extended family, Elizabeth’s daughter Jackie and her husband Roger Renner, their children, Amy Miller, Amanda Renner and God Son Billy Renner and their grandchildren. He considered all of them his family. Friends and family will be received at a graveside service at Nicholson Cemetery, Summers School Rd., Morgantown, on Friday, December 11th at 12:00 Noon with Pastor Dan Meadows officiating and full military funeral honors. Although guests are invited to come visit, it is required, per the Governor and CDC pandemic guidelines, that all visitors wear face masks and practice social distancing.
