William "Kevin" Ellis, of Morgantown, WV passed away on December 6, 2020, with his daughter by his side. He was 65.
Kevin was born to William and Doris (Shields) Ellis in Key West, Florida. Growing up, he was an active Boy Scout and enjoyed lending a helping hand on the family's small farm. Kevin was humble in regards to his musical ear and skillfully played a variety of instruments. He also thoroughly enjoyed kickboxing and surfing; due to his father's naval commitment, his family grew up by the water. Kevin graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in Alexandria, VA. He went on to discover his passion for paint contracting and eventually running his own home improvement business.
Kevin was with the love of his life, Renee, for 35 years. They started their life together in Arlington, Virginia and proudly resided there for the duration of their life together. They were longtime members of Westover Baptist Church.
Kevin is survived by his daughter, Carrie Boo and husband SoHyun; his stepdaughter, Christin Phelps and husband Scott; his stepson, Kim DelMonte; his brothers, Michael and Scott Ellis; and four granddaughters, two grandsons, and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and grandparents, Kevin was preceded in death by his wife, Renee Ellis, and brother, Marc Ellis.
A burial service to honor Kevin's life will be held at the Beverly Hills Cemetery in Morgantown, West Virginia. For safety purposes, we kindly ask that all in attendance practice social distancing and extend your condolences at a later time if you are not well.
In lieu of flowers, gestures of sympathy can be made to the WVU Cancer Institute, Office of Philanthropy (P.O. Box 9300/ Morgantown, WV/ 26505). Checks can be made payable to the WVU Foundation, Inc. The Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center provided Kevin with phenomenal care and further supporting their research and the services they provide would honor him well.
