Mrs. Tall was always nice to me as a teenager, even when I probably didn't deserve the kindness. Her Husband was also nice to me. Took us orienteering as I recall. RIP.

We only lately got word of Chris' passing and want to send our condolences for a wonderful, thoughtful, creative and truly unique person whom we were very lucky to know. We shared many visits (of hers to California) and of ours to the welcoming Cheshire home she shared with Don. Her warmth extended to our late daughter Rachel who also gained much knowledge and simply hours of enjoyment with Chris as did we. We were fascinated by her book of letters re: her own separated family during the war years, and loved talking politics with her. Her great friendships with Larry's mother Joy and aunt Maisry were both loving and lasted from their early years through their lifetimes and these "foster" sisters
set a great example of empathy and interest in people following different paths. Both Joy and Maisry always spoke with great love for Christine and her family and they always kept us up to date when we lost touch. Chris particularly extended her warmth and thoughtfulness to Rachel when she was attending RISD in Providence.
We are so happy that we all got to spend valuable time with Christine and as is said in our tradition May Her Memory Be For A Blessing.
To Catherine, Steve and their families we send our love at this difficult time.

I am so sorry to hear of Christine's passing. I was so fond of her and Don when I go to know them in Cheshire CT. She and I were part of a "book tour" of sorts -- at our Church and Library :) -- as we had books published near the same time. Unfortunately, we fell out of touch a while after she moved to Morgantown. I'd always meant to come see her on my "next trip" to Morgantown. (That is my home town.) But two trips I planned were cancelled for (my) health reasons. My one trip back of late was for a quick down and back for the funeral of a dear friend of ours, Richard Sutter. I'd always hoped that she and Richard's wife, Kathleen, might meet as I knew they'd enjoy each other. I don't know if they ever did.
Although it has been such a long time, nothing has dimmed my warm affection for Christine. To me, she was one of those people who both impressed and was easy to be with. Her stories were so entertaining and delivered with such a delightful mix of sincerity and humor.
My condolences for your loss of such a dear and wonderful person.
