The letter jacket Rob gave me when he got a new one that was at my mother’s house when she died in 2017 was kept not because I wore it but because Rob did. RIP. Spitzer

Brenda, Becky, Brad, Amy, Chris, Robbie,
From our family to yours, we give prayers of comfort and strength for all you guys. Bob was such an amazing man. I remember the first time I met him; it was Christmas time and Becky, Stephanie and myself were all dressed in our "favorite" Christmas sweaters and Bob thought I was the goofiest guy he probably ever met (Melvin) not realizing it was all an act..haha. After that we really got along. I always looked forward to seeing him at Adaline and Aubree's birthday parties. We always talked fishing and taking a trip to Lake Eufaula to catch some big bass. He was a genuine, hardworking, honest, and caring man that gave it all for his family. His love will live on in all you guys. Bob is blessed with peace in heaven at God's side.
Love,
Brook, Stefanie, Violet & Everett

"When someone you love becomes a memory - The memory becomes a treasure"
There are so many memories Robert Thomas Westwood - 65 years worth - from the first day we met - till our last conversation - the morning of February 18th - Thursday 10:00 a.m. - Pat and I driving home - we received a call from you my friend - We laughed as always - brought up a few stories - made some plans ---- I am forever grateful for that call - you were a happy content man - loving husband, father, grandfather and I will share many a story with all of them --- I promise they will know the many lives you've touched, the many accomplishments, the friendships - all of it - - I will miss you tremendously - but your legacy will live on!
Rest in Peace my Friend
Love John

So sorry to hear about Bob's passing. We played basketball together for a lot of years and watched our son's play basketball together as well. Bob was a real competitor on the court and a great guy off the court. I'll miss his smile and his stories. My deepest sympathy to Brenda and all his family. Sincerely, Lew McCreery

Brenda and family,
I couldn't believe what I was reading in the newspaper. Bob and I were friends for many years. When Bob started the contracting business, him and I did some contracting work together and we also played on some softball teams together. Through the years Bob did the work on our house when needed. Whether it be remodeling, adding additions or helping repair other damages, Bob is who I called. As recently as this past summer, Bob and I worked together to repair damages to our garage. Bob was honest and trustworthy and I enjoyed his company and will miss his friendship.

My heartfelt sympathy goes out to Rob's family and his dear friends, Johnny and Dickie. I have known Rob since high school at AEHS in Kensington. As far as Rob and I knew, we were the only West Virginians in the entire school, and we often talked about returning to our homes in the hills. We both were fortunate enough to do so. Rob was a terrific person and a true friend. The world will be a lonely place without him.

Dear Brenda and Family,
I did not want to believe my eyes when I read of Rob's passing. He was such a special person. The last time I saw him was at Lowes and he shared stories of your beloved children and grand children. His eyes always lit up so bright when he spoke of his family. He was a kind person and a hard worker. I think of him and his great talent every time I look at my house. Hoping you find comfort in the memories and the love. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Diane Keegan Stegmaier

I am so sadden by Bob's passing, He was a good guy and a good friend who kept in touch with me and loved to attend TKE alumni events at Concord University. I was looking forward to seeing him next year when we dig up a time capsule that he and his son helped bury years ago. My heartfelt condolences to his family.

Aunt Brenda, Becky, Amy, & Robbie ~
There are no words to express how sorry that I am for your loss. You and your families are in my thoughts and prayers. Uncle Rob was such a presence in my life despite not seeing each other very often. Not a phone call went by with my Dad without him mentioning Wes...something funny he said or did or just telling me what was new in all your lives. I can still hear your Dad’s laugh. I can see him rolling his eyes at my Dad telling his version of their stories which somehow always painted my Dad in a better light than Uncle Rob or any of the others that were always present in these stories especially Mouse, Pig, and Moose to name a few. I remember when my Dad and Uncle Rob stayed with me in Baltimore. The first time Uncle Rob got to meet Mack. I posted a picture of Uncle Rob holding Mack who was chewing on the brim of Uncle Rob’s WV hat. I posted the picture on Facebook and one of you commented on what a good grandfather he would be some day. How right you were. And I am so thankful that he was able to know his grandchildren. My Dad would tell me about how proud Uncle Rob was of all of you as well as your children and your spouses. I am so sorry that I cannot be there in person to hug you all and to celebrate the life of one of the greatest men I have ever known, but I will always think of him with a smile. I will cherish the memories and all their stories. He was my Uncle Rob. My Santa Claus. And the greatest friend that my Dad could have ever hoped to have. I love you all!

I was touched by the news of Rob's passing and send each family member a prayer for faith in their Redeemer! I would see Rob at church in Kensington, and his mother, Doris, was a friend of my mother's from church. God be with you. Sara Gammon AEHS '65, LPN.
