James and I had worked together at South. After I retired from teaching I became a volunteer at Mapleshire where we became reacquainted. Once Glenda moved there too I had the pleasure of getting to know her. I greatly enjoyed my visits with her and could tell she was a woman of God. Both she and James loved the Lord and demonstrated that every chance they got. I will miss spending time with her but am rejoicing that she is no longer limited by her earthly body and is in paradise with James.

Miss Glenda and Brother Jim were a special couple. They loved God and each other with all their hearts. It was our privilege to minister to them during their stay at Mapleshire. Monday night choir won't be the same without them, but their voices are ringing loud and clear on the other side. Until we meet again, dear friends. Herb and Nancy Linn

Dear Jim, Kristy and Melissa and Families — so sorry about Glenda’s passing. What a wonderful Mother and Grandmother. Grandma Jecklin (Millie) loved Glenda — the notes and calls where very special for Millie. They are both in heaven, Glenda has no pain and Millie can hear just fine now — I would bet they are having a great time chatting.
Love,
Dave & Kari Jecklin

I'm so sorry for your loss. I know she is in a better place. I have thought about her many times. I wanted to go see her but due to covid I could not not. I can not tell you how much she and your Dad had a huge impact on my life. Her kindness always smiling gentle soul. Our saying was Are you ready. I know one person was there to welcome her to Heaven was my Mom JoAnn Squires they were best friends. My Mom loved her so much. There was no one like Sister Troy. Again Prayers for your family
Sincerely Deb McCardle

As one of those neighborhood kids mentioned in the obituary, Glenda’s kind nature was such a blessing growing up. Always a smile and gentle encouragement. She supported all of our childhood ventures (lemonade stand, etc). I have a memory of us reading the Carl Sandburg poem “Fog” which starts “The fog comes on little cat feet” over her kitchen counter as I always loved kittens. Such a sweet soul. My love to her family.
