I was so blessed to have had Dr. Craig for my boss for three years at WVU. It was during a really difficult time in my family and I could not have asked for a kinder more understanding person to have worked for during that period of my life. He had an understated sense of humor which was a joy. He was just an answer to prayer.

Bob was one of the first people I interacted with as a M.S. student in exercise physiology (~1991), and he exercised at the Coliseum. He was so kind and genuinely interested in me as a student and person. Bob ultimately motivated me to pursue a Ph.D. in Physiology, and even as a faculty member he served as mentor and guide to my success. There are so many careers and lives that Bob's mentoring and friendship touched, he will be sorely missed. The HSC lost a giant, but his memory will forever be a part of this Institution. My condolences to to the family.

Bob was a true giant in the WVU School of Medicine. While my time there did not overlap as much as I would have liked with his, it was my great honor and privilege to have worked with him at OLLI. I always enjoyed seeing him and Marge at the Student Rec Center. Bob leaves a legacy of the enormous impact he had on all the many faculty, staff, and students who were fortunate enough to have known him. - Chris Martin, MD, Professor, WVU Schools of Medicine and Public Health

Dear Marge; We just heard about Bob' s passing. Our heart felt condolences to you and the rest of your familiy. We enjoyed meeting bot of you and sharing some time for many months with both of you at the REC center. Unfortunately, Covid-19 put a stop to that. He was such a fine person who gave many years of free service to North Hills Homeowners Association. Hope he passed away peacefully and did not suffer at the end.
Hope you are doing well and let us know if we can be some assistance even though our activities are still quite limited because of the current situation. With best wishes,
Mohindar and Harbhajan Seehra

Sincerest condolences to you, Marge, and your family. I have known you both for so long...I worked with Bob at Health Sciences, got to see you both at OLLI classes, and, of course, see you at church. Words don’t seem very adequate right now, but I pray that God surrounds you with His love and gives you wonderful memories to sustain you.

It's hard to think of Bob Craig without thinking of another Bob, kindly mentioned in the obituary, my husband, Bob Stitzel. Their work together on editing their classic textbook, Modern Pharmacology, and their affection for each other and for their students, and their humor and kindness -- these are treasured memories, And times with Bob and Marge were always filled with kindness, and laughter and grace. Thank you Bob for being part of our lives.

Love and light to you, Margaret. We are sad to hear about Bob's passing, and we mourn the loss of your partner in both your adventurous travels and your quieter moments. I so wish I could have taken his wine tasting class at OLLI--it sounds amazing.
My earliest memories of Bob are from when I was a kid--I was in awe of Bob's "professor voice", punctuated by his sense of humor and a steady measure of kindness.
We are so sorry for this tremendous loss.
Much love,
Kristin & Co. (Brett, Maya, Jonah, Simon)

I am very sad to learn of Bob’s passing. He will be missed. He was part of a stellar generation of faculty at the School of Medicine who made me, and other new faculty, feel welcomed as new assistant professors, and then mentored us with wisdom and friendship thereafter. In particular, many of us were grateful for Bob’s invaluable guidance and encouragement in his role as Chair of the HSC Promotion and Tenure Committee. Bob was very accomplished, very kind, and delightfully funny. I am deeply regretful, however, to have missed him in his role as co-coordinator of the now legendary wine tasting course at OLLIE as I’m sure he was quite fun! I shall raise a toast to him in memoriam at the next opportunity. My sincere condolences to his family.

Bob was the first person I met when I interviewed at WVU for the Pharmacology and Toxicology PhD program. Bob was so kind, genuine, and easygoing - I knew that WVU would be the place for me. I was so glad to be able to attend scientific reunions over the years in Morgantown, and I always looked forward to catching up with Bob. He was a great mentor, scientist, administrator, and he will be sorely missed. My deepest sympathy to you Margaret, and to you, Gary.

I knew Bob well for his service to WVU School of Medicine. He was a long term, productive member of the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology. He was an excellent teacher of pharmacology to medical students, a dedicated researcher, and an active mentor to graduate students. Highlights of his service to WVU include his active involvement over several decades in a graduate training grant in pharmacology and being co-editor of the leading medical pharmacology text in the country. As Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Education, he initiated a very popular adult education program, "Med School 101". After his retirement from WVU, he continued his interest in adult education in the OLLI Program.
Bob had an outstanding academic career and impacted a multitude of students. He will be remembered by these students for his caring nature and wise advise.
My condolences to Margaret and family.

My sincere condolences to Bob's family, he was a mentor to all graduate students in pharmacology/toxicology at WVU, of which I was one. His smile and way of making us laugh is remembered to this day, 36 years after graduating from the program. You have so much to be proud of in Bob's legacy to so many of us.

We have so many wonderful memories of Bob. We will cherish the good times we shared over a hand of bridge, a lovely dinner, or an opportunity to view and admire his gorgeous roses. Bob was always a “leader of the pact,” especially when it came to supporting our community and those in need. We will miss him so very much. Ginny and Allan Hammock
