Charlie was and always will be one of the greatest, most loving people I well ever know or meet in my life time.
There really aren't any words that can describe how a person feels when they loose someone special in their life. So I'm not even going to try. Instead, I am going to remember the good. He was as good as it gets and he brought it out in everyone he met.
Through the years life in general can get in the way of what really matters and even though life got in the way, Charlie took care of what really counts and for that I thank you
Charlie was a wonderful, loving husband to my sister, Lisa, and an amazing father to my nephew and niece. They may not have always been a part of my life like I wanted but I knew they were well taken care of with Charlie by their side.
As we get older, we forget, we think of the what ifs, maybes, could've, should've, would've and as we all know life is way too short for that. We have to enjoy life's little pleasures and take with us everyday the strength that Charlie has left behind for us and the ability to do so.
The world is a sadder place without him but his love will always be with us all to move forward, to carry on and to be the best we can be.
Thank you, Charlie, for being a part of my life
I will miss you

I met Charles during a virtual D&D game my friend Bob invited me to. I had just finished a campaign with a group of bad gamers and it had soured my experience with D&D. Bob said I just needed to game with a group of good guys, and that is how I met Charles. He welcomed me to the group as if I was a long lost friend and made the group the home I didn't know I was missing. Together we shared adventures, triumphs, some failures and most of all friendship. They were definitely good guys and Charles was one of the best. He will be missed by all, and his memory will live long with all of us.

I went to school with Charlie from Suncrest Jr. High through college at WVU. Charlie was a drummer and I still remember the "old days" in band at SJHS and MHS. However, I really got to know Charlie better in college as we were both in chemical engineering together. Our senior year we spent many hours together as lab partners and working together on our senior design project. I used to go to his house to work on our lab reports and homework and his parents were always gracious hosts at the house on Bakers Ridge. We had many laughs and many late hours working together in college. There may have been some breaks to play a few computer games too as we both enjoyed these. I remember on one occasion I had the opportunity to go bass fishing with Charlie at the family farm. He did really enjoy fishing as did I. I miss the old times when we used to hang-out but then life got in the way after college and Charlie moved to Richmond. Charlie and I had swapped emails over the years since he returned to Morgantown but we never reconnected and I so regret not doing this. He was such a friendly and caring individual and I believe he was liked/loved by everyone he met. I am so saddened to lose someone I still consider a good friend but I am so grateful that I had a chance to know Charlie. Our inside joke was from a professor that wrote on one of our lab reports in college "awkward English please respond me back why". We never forgot this and joked about it every time we interacted. Please take solace that Charlie made a positive impression to many in his short time on Earth and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Goodbye my friend.

Q: What will you never forget about Charles?
A: Charlie often spoke about his favorite band, Rush, and he loved riding the boogie board on the waves as they rolled toward the beach. Charlie never met a stranger; he was a friend to everyone, and all will greatly miss him. We lost a dear friend, but God gained an Angel.

Even though we weren’t close as adults, I have so many memories of Charlie, having grown up across the street from Martha, Dale, Alicia, Charlie, and Philip. We spent many days playing all day outside and I’ll never forget how hard it was to tackle Charlie when we played football. He was built like an ox and it was usually up to Philip and I to try and tackle him, to no avail. I can still see the smile on his face when we tried.
I will also always remember our time together singing gospel songs in The Solid Rock Singers. Charlie always took the line, “Daddy sang bass”. And if I recall, he was the only one with a deep enough voice for He Touched Me.
Charlie helped me pull off the greatest prank of all time, dressing up and wandering through the woods to scare the crap out of my friends. Thanks for that Charlie. Several people will never forget that night. Or you!

Charles was the best mentor I’ve ever had the pleasure to learn from. He taught me so many great skills and lessons in patience that I’ve carried throughout my career. I’ve often said, you couldn’t find a nicer, more positive being if you created one from scratch. He always had a caring and kind demeanor and fit the profile of a gentle giant (at least to this short guy).
Charles used his faith and strength to inspire me and lift me when I myself faced an end of life health crisis. He would text me with prayers and words of inspiration as I laid in my hospital bed, constantly giving me the added strength I needed to fight for my own life.
To me, Charles was much more than just a boss or a mentor, he helped mold me as a young kid starting off his career journey into the unknown. He taught me how to combat adversity with positivity and to smile even when you don’t get your way.
In this difficult time, I truly hope Charles and his family know how truly blessed I feel to have had the privilege to spend the time I did with him.
These are the times I find strength in my memories. Like Charles walking out of his office with that terrible towel after a win, and that giant smile on his face. Or the endless times he would share his life and beam about Lisa, Conner and Claire. He’s just the kind of person that has an infectious way of bringing out the best in people and I can only hope to be able to pay it forward in my own life and embody his positive spirit in how I treat others.
Thank you for the immeasurable gifts you’ve given me! Your body was just a vessel but your memory and spirit shall provide me strength forever!
With love, thoughts and prayers,
Dustin

Charles was a kind man who always had everyone's best interest at heart. I met Charles when I was an intern starting out at Mylan and he was always level headed and had kind words to say to everyone. He shared a lot of knowledge with me that I still use in my every day work and I will forever be grateful for his guidance and friendship.

Q: What was one of your favorite qualities of Charles?
A: Always a paladin and never a villian. A true man to be admired and cherished. We are a poorer world without him. He defined how to live a life of integrity.

I had the honor of getting to know Charlie while working for the same company in Richmond.
I don’t remember many people from that company, but Charles stood out. He was always in a good mood; always smiling. He was one of those people where the instant you meet them, you know they are intrinsically ‘good’.
I remember he had this M&M machine on his desk, so whenever I stopped for a chat with some friends in his department, I had to grab some. And that is the image I have in my head…Charlie with a big smile, sitting behind his desk.
