In 1975, I returned to Morgantown for my senior year of college to discover that the apartment I thought I had reserved was not available. Unable to find another place to live, I was staying in a hotel. As my funds quickly dwindled, I was about to drop out when Manson invited me to stay with Mary and him until I was able to find a place to live. I am eternally grateful to Mannon for enabling me to graduate and continue my career in natural resource conservation. He was a great friend and mentor. Mannon was an extraordinary person whose work and life will continue to benefit future generations.

I am so sorry to hear of Mannon's passing. What a long and storied life! He and my husband, Doug were such great friends. Maybe they are teeing it up this morning in heaven. I have such fond memories of all of us vacationing in Orlando with the Roberts' for many years. RIP Mannon.
