Joyce, Ashley, Maddie, Amber, I really do know how difficult it is for you right now. You were there for her when she needed you, so try to take comfort in that fact. Nobody will ever replace her. It is that uniqueness that each of us carries throughout life and then in the memories of our loved ones. Fortunately, it grows stronger and richer as we, ourselves, age, and it helps us to understand things that have been to this point unclear. Love you all.

Mom, I am going to miss you dearly! You were my whole life. We did all we could do to take care of you & help keep you going. You were so strong your whole life. An amazing woman! My best friend, my mother, my everything. My heart is broken. I will think about you everyday & miss you even more. Today is the viewing and tomorrow is the funeral and I just don't know how to say goodbye. It is going to be so hard.

This woman made me realize that it's not about finishing a race first. It was about what you did while you were running it. I know it's cliche to think about the tortoise and the hare, but, grandma, YOU were my tortoise. You were always slow and steady. After this entire ordeal, all of the things you did in your life that seems all too short to us, you were the tortoise. You fought the good fight. You finished the race. You kept the faith.

Mommy, I love you so much and I will miss you more than I can say. You are so much of who I am. You taught me to laugh, to be silly, to love my children, to sacrifice for the ones I love, to love Jesus, to love singing. I remember you singing as you cleaned and as you rocked babies in your rocking chair. I hope you are singing today in Heaven. I know you aren't suffering anymore, Mommy and I know you are in a better place, but this is the hardest thing I've ever been through. Save me a seat at the banquet table.
