Obituary of Olufemi Anthony Olajide

Olufemi Anthony Olajide, 61, of Morgantown, died Saturday, January 25, 2014 at Ruby Memorial Hospital. He was born on December 24, 1952 in Nigeria, a son of the late Samuel Oluyemi Olajide and Sidikat Abeni Olanipekun. He was Catholic by faith. He was very passionate about his research work in Chemical Engineering at West Virginia University and about tutoring students in Mathematics. He was a staunch supporter of West Virginia University football. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Longfellow Olajide; children, Christina L. Springer and her husband Sean Babila, James L. Springer, and Leigh Braham; grandchildren, Kiarra Medley, Ailani Medley, and Jayce Springer; and several brothers and sisters. Friends will be received at the Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown, on Friday, January 31, 2014 from 11 AM until the time of the service at 2 PM with Father Alfred Obiudu officiating. Interment will follow at the East Oak Grove Cemetery in Morgantown. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 122 S. High Street, Morgantown, WV 26501.
