Marlowe Gabriel Stewart, 13, of Morgantown, passed away Tuesday, September 2, 2014.
Marlowe was born in Morgantown on November 13, 2000, the son of David Cuthbert George Stewart and Shawna Lynne (Jackson) Stewart.
Marlowe loved his family above all things and was loved by them more than he will ever know. He brought joy to everyone he came into contact with and will be deeply missed by all. He was a very happy boy who was always smiling and helping others. He liked to travel and explore new places. He played basketball and loved soccer, with a passion for Barcelona and Manchester United. Marlowe attended Covenant Christian School most of his childhood, until recently when he started attending South Middle School.
In addition to his parents, he is remembered and loved by his seven siblings: Blake Stewart, Elias Stewart, Mela Taylor, Arwen Stewart, Naomi Stewart, Caden Stewart, and Silas Stewart; two brothers-in-law: Rabie Belkacemi and Timmy Taylor; and one niece and three nephews: Zelda, Alexandru, Theoden, and Zakariya.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday afternoon at Wesley United Methodist Church, 503 North High St., Morgantown with Rev. Michael Q. Atkinson officiating. A private family inurnment will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions may be made in Marlowe's name to the Cure Kids Cancer Fund at WVU Children's Hospital, PO Box 8200, ROC 117, Morgantown, WV 26506.. The Cure Kids Cancer Fund is an organization dedicated to assisting families that are currently battling childhood cancer and a mission that Marlowe has supported over the last four years.
