Obituary of Pearl Guseman

Pearl Guseman, 95, of Morgantown, was called home Sunday afternoon, April 26, 2015 at Sundale Nursing Home.
Pearl was born in Bretz, WV on December 24, 1919, to the late Frank Wolfe and the late Iva Mary (Harned) Wolfe.
She graduated from Masontown High School in 1938.
Pearl married the love of her life, Philip Guseman, Sr. on October 20, 1941 in Phoenix City, AL. They were married for 57 years.
She was a homemaker who devoted her life to her family. She enjoyed family gatherings, bible study, reading, word finds and bingo.
Pearl was a faithful member of the Masontown United Methodist Church and a member of the United Methodist Women. She enjoyed singing in the choir and helping with buckwheat cake dinners.
She is survived by two children, Philip Guseman, Jr. (spouse Donna) and Mary Brutto all of Morgantown; one grandson, Jeffrey Brutto (spouse Tiffany) of Morgantown; one brother, C. Wade Wolfe (spouse Beulah) of Masontown, and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband; brothers Gilbert, Everet, Woodrow, Kermit, Willard and Richard; sisters Edith, Jesse, Dorothy and Ruth as well as her youngest sibling who died at birth; and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, on Wednesday, April 29th from 4-8 PM and again on Thursday, April 30th from 10 AM until the time of the funeral service at 11 AM with Pastor Sam Starling officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens, Westover.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Masontown United Methodist Church, PO Box 536, Masontown, WV 26542 or the Resident Council at Sundale Nursing Home, 800 JD Anderson Dr., Morgantown, WV 26505.
The family would like to extend thank you’s to the doctors, nurses and staff at Sundale Nursing Home for their excellent care of their beloved mother and grandmother; and to Morgantown Hospice for their services during Pearl’s last days.
