My name is Joe Cavallaro. Nancy and I were close in HS and in NYC in our early twenties. I still, when I am outside on nights with a full moon, remember what she called it in a poem... "my hole punch in the sky."

I have only just learned of Nancy's death and of Gloria's as well. I remember them both so fondly as such beautiful, funny, sweet, bright souls. I have told my kids the story of Gloria falling asleep on the couch with arm raised over her head and waking up frightened by her own hand in her face and then laughing at herself. I remember Nancy carrying her bassoon that seemed as big as she was around the halls of Dwight. I remember her as complicated and fierce but bright and light and sweet at the same time. I remember them both with love. My thoughts go out the her family and friends.

To Susan, Barbara...and all of the Weber and Madsen family - I was so sorry to hear that you have lost your sweet Nancy. I only got to know her once, for one fun week in the summer of 2014. She was so friendly and easy to talk to, such a sweet person, and I felt lucky to get to know her during that short time. My thoughts and prayers are with you always.

Nancy (and her sister Susan) has been a part of our greater Morgantown community for so many years - we've all watched each other age together and remember when.
