I worked with Norm from 1982-1996 at DOE-NETL in Morgantown, WV. He was a smart, committed, hard-working individual who consistently gave his best to produce high-quality products and services for his customers. I counted on his sage advise on human resources matters, and he never let me down. I regret that I was out-of-town and could not attend his memorial service, and I only just learned of his sudden death at the very young age of 72. I know he leaves many good memories behind for his family to treasure for years to come until they one day rejoin him. God is real, Jesus Christ is real, and Heaven is real, and I know that is where I shall one day see Norm again. May God bless and comfort his wife Marilyn, children Rachel and Christopher, and other family members during this time of loss, mourning, and remembrance of a good man. Brent Armstrong

Norm was a wonderful person. Those of us who worked with him when he supported the Office of Legacy Management adored and admired him. My deepest condolences to Marilyn and his entire family.

I knew Norm through his tremendous work with Literacy Volunteers over the past couple of decades. He was a knowledgeable and reliable advocate for adult literacy issues and was truly dedicated to the Literacy Volunteers organization. He will be greatly remembered and missed by members of this organization.
