Obituary of Sandra Kay Crider

Sandra K. Edgell Mcle Crider lost her courageous battle with cancer on March 19th 2017. She was born November 13, 1949 to the late Clyde Edgell and Garnett Richard Edgell. She was known for her love of family which meant more to her than anything. She also loved her work at Hastings Funeral Home for the past 15 years after working for H.L. Winters Insurance Agency for several years. She is survived by her son, Matthew S. McIe and wife, Samantha of Granville, daughter, Melissa McIe-Allen and husband, Dave of Maidsville; Step-children: Teresa and Jim Anderson of Battle Ground, WA, Vicki and Russell Grim of Morgantown, WV, Candy and Gary Lohiser of Mt. Morris, PA, Dwayne and Kim Crider of Fairmont, WV, Doreen and Brad Baxter of Fairbanks, AK, and Roger Crider of Morgantown, WV; 7 grandchildren who were the light of her life: Jessika McIe, Jennifer McIe, Samantha Turner, Tyler Turner, Savannah McIe-Comberiati and husband, Grant, Matthew O. McIe, and Maverick McIe; 9 step grandchildren; one great-grandchild, John Comberiati; and 14 great step grandchildren. Also surviving are 6 siblings, Geraldine Bennett and husband, Clifford, Selma Strakle and husband, Joe, Clyde “Punkin” Edgell, Jr., Ronnie Edgell, Charles “Ray” Edgell, and James Edgell and wife, Joy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Nathan McIe and his wife Alison Goff-McIe. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 30 years Gerald A. Crider. The family would like to thank the staff of Mon General for the care and compassion they showed to Sandy and her family during her battle. Thank you to Hastings Funeral Home for being so kind and generous to her over the years and especially during her illness, and a special Thank You to Dale Smith and Goldie Dalton for their many visits and willingness to help wherever they could. She will be sadly missed by everyone who had the privilege to know her. Friends and family will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, Wednesday, March 22, 2017 from 3-5 PM and 7-9 PM, and Thursday, March 23, 2017 from 1 PM until the time of service at 2 PM with Pastor Dan Meadows officiating. Honoring Sandy’s wishes, she will be cremated and a private graveside memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
