Obituary of William Eugene Lanham
William (Bill) Lanham, 69, of Morgantown, passed away Tuesday, May 9, 2017, at his residence after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born in Morgantown on June 17, 1947, the son of Norma Jean Coven Consonery and the late William Ellsworth Lanham.
Bill was a 1966 graduate of University High School and 1970 graduate of West Virginia University. Following graduation, he embarked on a life long and successful career in the Pharmaceutical and Medical Device industries.
Bill is survived by his mother Norma Jean Consonery of Charleroi, PA; sons: William Joshua Lanham and wife, Stephanie, and Jonathan Alexander Lanham, and wife, Angela; grandchildren: Audrey, Alexa, and Ari of Peters Township, PA, and Madelyn and Beckett of Morgantown.
He is also survived by his close companion Melica Idler and her two children Andrea and Parker of Morgantown; as well as his sisters: Barbara Lanham Sanders and husband Bryan of Honey Brook, PA, and Monica Consonery of Ashland, VA; brothers: Bob Consonery of Emerald isle, NC, and James Lanham and wife Debbie of Auburndale, FL and; sister-in-law, Debbie Fogle Tipper of Vienna, WV. He also had many nieces and nephews.
Along with his father, William was preceded in death by his wife, Candace Fogle Lanham, and sister-in-law, Constance Fogle Fuchs.
Family and friends will be received at Suncrest United Methodist Church, 479 Van Voorhis Road, Morgantown, on Tuesday, May 16, 2017, from 9AM until the time of memorial service at 12PM with Rev. Junius Lewis officiating.
The family requests, in lieu of flowers, a memorial donation be made to the Lanham Family Fund for cancer research at Johns Hopkins, Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center; Development Office, One Charles Center, 100 North Charles Street, Suite 234, Baltimore, MD 21201.
