Obituary of Marc Thomas Hartnett
Marc Thomas Hartnett, 55, of Morgantown, passed away Tuesday evening, December 19, 2017 at his home.
A Chestertown, Maryland native, Marc was raised in Morgantown, and spent several years in Los Angeles.
A 1980 St. Francis High School alumnus, Marc was an honor student at LACC (Los Angeles City College), majoring in Film Production and Photography after studying art at WVU CCA (College of Creative Arts) where he was a freelance filmographer for dramatic and ballet performances, as well as for MAC (Monongalia Arts Center).
Marc’s original instrumental music was produced independently as part of his Omega Productions, while his Electronic Eye Photography services were part of his Dorien Grey Enterprise. A posthumous publication of a collection of Marc’s photography is being planned for Spring 2018.
Marc is survived by his parents, Koula Svokos Hartnett and Richard Hartnett of Morgantown, and his brother, Christopher Hartnett, of New York City.
A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at 11:00 am at the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, 447 Spruce Street, Morgantown with Father David Shaw officiating. Interment will follow at 2:00 pm at the Oak Lawn Cemetery in Uniontown, Pennsylvania.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marc’s memory to either St. Francis High School Alumni Association, Assumption Greek Orthodox Church of Morgantown, MAC, or the American Heart Association.
