Obituary of Reeda Mae Ervin
Reeda Mae (Wilkins) Ervin was called to her heavenly home on Friday, January 19th, 2018.
She was born in Pursglove, WV on July 29th, 1931, daughter of the late Mary Louise and Charles William Wilkins.
Reeda graduated from University High School in 1949. She married the love of her life, Bill Ervin, on March 11th, 1951 and was a devoted wife and mother to their children. She was a homemaker most of her married life, but worked for Monongalia County in both the tax office and the circuit clerk’s office.
Reeda loved life, her family, and her church, Riverside Apostolic. She and Bill enjoyed their retirement and spent many winters in St. Petersburg, Florida. She volunteered at Mon General for several years in the gift shop. She loved to bowl, travel, and tailgate with friends cheering on the Mountaineers; but once she started golfing, she found her niche. She and Bill joined the Pines Country Club in 1971 and she was still an active member playing on the Tuesday Ladies league and with her friends, Sharon Travis, Madeline Rudolph, Elaine Gatto, and many others. She passed that love for golf on to her daughter, Patti and the two of them enjoyed many golf games together.
Reeda is survived by her daughters: Debbi McCullough and husband Rick of Morgantown, Patti Debone and husband Lou of Naples, Fl., and Amy Cannon and husband Scott from St. Petersburg, FL. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Toby McCullough (wife Paige), Stacie Rogers (husband Butch), Justin Tiberio, Kristin Tiberio (fiancée Matt Volk), and Zack and Allie Cannon; and great grandchildren: Alex and Gracie Rogers and Addison and Mara McCullough. Also surviving is one sister, Nan Jordan; three brothers, Jim, John and Mark Wilkins; many nieces and nephews; and two special people in her life – Michael Tiberio and Boris Williams. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, of 62 years, Bill; a son, David Franklin Ervin; and three siblings, Mary Virginia Wilkins, Betty Bender, and Buck Wilkins.
