I am deeply saddened by Mark's passing. Mark was one of the friendliest, loving most easy going men I've ever know. He was fun to talk to and always ready to lend a hand. I never felt like a stranger when I visited Mark and Bobbie. They were my cousins and loved by my entire family. I will miss him so much and I just wish I had spent more time with him. My heart is very heavy over his passing. If God ever saved a place in Heaven for someone it was Mark.
Bobbie, Jeff and Joyce, God Bless you all. And God Bless Mark
Love
Butch

Joyce and Jeff,
I am sitting with my mother, here on her farm, full of tender memories created by friends and family. When she told me of your father's passing, the memories of him that came flooding in all had him smiling. Both he and your mother always had a smile for me, asked about me, encouraged me and made me feel like they were fans of mine - no matter what awkward or trying teen-age stage I was passing through.
They shared their gift of constant gratitude and happiness with everyone they saw. I always left smiling too. May I be remembered in such a way by those in my life!
He loved his wife and family with all he had. You didn't have to know him to know that - it was felt - it was obvious by any causal observer. That love is eternal and continues on.
I pray you continue to feel his presence and love as he continues to serve and protect you beyond the veil. God bless you and your lovely mother.

Heartfelt sympathy goes out to the family and friends during this difficult time. I hope that the promise at 1 Thessalonians 4:14 will bring you comfort. Knowing that there is a future for the ones we have lost in death can be reassuring.

So sorry to hear of the passing of my childhood friend. Mark and I grew up together in Berkeley Springs, WV, living just 6 houses apart on North Washington Street. We attended grades 1-12 as classmates, graduating in 1953, we played all sports as well as playground sports at the Train Station together during our childhood. We spent many hours hunting squirrels on different farms throughout Morgan County. Upon graduation, Mark chose the academic life while I enlisted in the US Air Force. We would visit with each other during vacation trips to Berkeley Springs, where I first met his wife Barbara at a HS Class Reunion. I last saw and visited with Mark and Barbra in September 2015 at the Class Reunion near CaCapon State Park. Mark was an honor student all through High School, and worked during non school hours at the High School as a Maintenance worker. He also spent the summers working with relatives in the DC Area doing carpenter type work. A great friend whom I shall miss. Condolences to the family during this time of sorrow. RIP Mark, you will be missed by all that ever knew you.

Now is the time to celebrate a wonderful life, well lived! Mark has truly been a marvelous friend over the years. He has contributed so much for his church, his family, friends and others. He served many important callings in the church, especially with the Morgantown University Ward, the Morgantown Ward and the Cheat River Ward. We will always remember his kind and very supportive disposition toward all. We will truly miss John Mark Hobday!
