Obituary of Franklin Fay Dailey
Franklin Fay “Buck” Dailey, 81, of Morgantown, passed away Saturday, September 29, 2018, at Mapleshire Nursing Home.
He was born February 19, 1937, at home in Morgantown, a son of the late Thomas William and Carrie Adria (Powell) Dailey.
Buck served in the US Navy from 1955-1959 and worked for 45 years as a Carpenter in Local #604. He enjoyed traveling and the open space of the outdoors.
He is survived by his son, Nathan F. Dailey and wife Tracey, daughter Natalie Dailey; grandsons, Evan Bradley, and Jacob Bradley; sister, Shirley Dalton, all of Morgantown; and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his lifelong friend, Benjamin Robert Murray and his wife Gracie Mae.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Robert, Thomas, Jack, Bill, Richard, Joanna, Jean Ice, and twin sister, Lois DuBois.
Friends and family will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, on Wednesday, October 3rd from 3-5 & 7-9 PM. Visitation will continue at Nicholson Chapel Church, Summers School Rd., Morgantown, on Thursday, October 4th from 10 AM until the time of the funeral service at 11 AM with Pastor Dan Meadows officiating. Interment will follow at Nicholson Cemetery.
