Allen Roger Sharp Jr. passed away on Friday July 10, 2020 at his home surrounded by family. He was born Dec. 18, 1942 in Bridgeton, NJ the son of Allen Roger Sharp Sr and Della Clark (Gaskill) Sharp.
Allen served as the Mayor of Star City from 2001-2015 and worked for Food Land/BiLo foods for 33 years serving as a manager and caterer. Allen was a member and former president of Morgantown North Rotary Club as well as being a member of Suncrest United Methodist Church. Allen was an active member of his community.
Allen is survived by his children, Karen Sharp Smith, Keith Sharp, and Stacey (Art) Johnson; grandchildren: Nicole (Michael) Johnson, Brittany (Travis) Ralston, Christopher (Jordan) Smith, Kayla Smith, Brooke Troutman, Samantha (Ian) Jackson, Allen Sharp III, Alexis Sharp, Jacob and Joshua Johnson; great-grandson, Wayne Hicks; and his siblings, Robert Sharp and Betsy Smith.
In addition to his wife, Olga L. (Bender) Sharp, he was preceded in death by his parents, and his siblings, Linwood Sharp and Dora Schmidt.
Family and Friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home on Thursday July 16, 2020 from 4 p.m.-8 p.m. A private family service will be held at a later date and he will be buried at East Oak Grove Cemetary in Morgantown, WV.
