Please accept my sincere condolences.
“Mr D” was a main force in my youth as the coach of I.O.O.F little league team. He was a great man. I can’t watch a baseball game without remembering all the fundamentals he taught us. He inspired me (as well as my teammates, I’m sure) to be the best we could be both on and off the playing field. Thanks Mr D! God bless you and prayers to your family.

Dear Gemma,
My name is Sarah Keith. I was a waitress at the Bob Evans at the Glenmark Center for many years in the mid 2000s. You and Rick were two of my very favorite customers. I know Rick loved his very, very thin pancakes!! I loved to sit and talk with you all. You were both like my adopted grandparents and you even came to my graduation party when I got my degree from WVU. Your caring and friendship meant so much to me. I have thought of you both many times over the years. I am so sorry to hear of Rick’s passing and wish you peace and comfort. Prayers to you and your family.
Love,
Sarah

Mr. D helped shape my life coaching me in Little league baseball for the Odd Fellows team. He inspired me to become a better ballplayer and helped instill my love of baseball. I was so very fortunate to have had him in my life and still remember the summer of 76 when we went undefeated and won the city crown. That was the best summer of my childhood and I treasure it to this day 46 years later. With deepest sympathies and love, Tommy Harman.

So sorry to hear of Rick's passing. I had the pleasure of being associated with him at Mon General Hospital for many years. After his retirement, I used to see him at Mountaineer Golf Course, and actually played in a Friday morning scramble with him. A wonderful, witty man who will be missed. Condolences to his family.

How I’ve missed seeing Rick nearly every Sat evening before Mass when he would stick his head in the Music Room door & wish all the musicians well - and tease us as well! Covid kept him away from his beloved church community for 2 years& now he can sing with the angels!

Rick was a wonderful man!! Very faithful to his Church and a good friend to everyone. He was so well liked because of his warm nature and willingness to treat all others with kindness. He and Gemma were long time members of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church and Rick was known to all with his "happy greeting" to all who entered the Church each week. He loved Gemma deeply and took wonderful care of her for all their 71 years of marriage. Rick is very deserving of each word of praise people will remember him for. May God give Gemma and family the strength they will need to go through the grief and loss of Rick at this very sad time. Such an honorable man!! "Rick -- we all truly loved you!!" May you now rest in peace my friend!! Thank you for being present in my life.
