There was truly no one quite like Aunt Luella. I just called her Luella because she was like an older sister. We were only 10 years apart in age. She started taking me to Zion Church near Sunset Beach when I was four years old. Because of her influence I am a Christian today. She was a wonderful role model to me and I have always tried to follow her example during my lifetime. Aunt Luella, I love you. RIP Love, Ruth Ann
Luella was the first resident I truly fell in love in my career. I grew to love her as we spent our mornings listening to hymns, doing her hair, makeup, and nails. Listening her talk about her kids, her husband, her red birds, and of course growing up in Cheat Lake. I now hold these memories so dear to me. She was so loved.
