Dad, thank you for your love and patience over the years. You were a man of few words, but you had the best sense of humor. You were always so laid back and just so easy to be around. Nobody makes dippy eggs like you do. I miss you already. I hope I’m living a life that made you proud and will continue to make you proud.
One of my favorite memories of you was one winter…you were driving your truck in the snow and did donuts in a parking lot…saying “we’re Dukes of Hazzard….yeee has!!!” I was a kid, but I still remember laughing so much in that moment.

Judy and Jr took Joann to get ice cream. Joann was foster special needs older lady that the family dearly loved and was living with a relative. She was a very messy eater and had ice cream all over her face. The windows in the car had been down and her hair was all wind-blown. On the way home, they picked up a young guy hitchhiker who had a guitar slung over his shoulder. Mind you, she still had the ice cream all over her face making the guy a little timid to get in the car. On the ride Joann leaned over with no sense of personal space, almost nose to nose, gets up in his face and says “Hi honey, I like your guitar!!!” When Jr finally stopped to let the hitchhiker out, he opened the door so fast and took off running. Joann yelled out the car “bye, honey!” We never saw him hitching again.
