The daughter of the late Virgil and Evelyn Newlon, Barbara was born in Parsons, WV on May 07, 1944. Barbara was known for her welcoming and warm personality, often described as someone who never met a stranger. She had an exceptional talent in the kitchen, baking sugar cookies, hot fudge cake, and making homemade noodles that became the highlight of many family and church gatherings. Barbara graduated from Morgantown High School in 1962 and dedicated many years of service as an Administrative Assistant, first at the First Church of the Nazarene in Morgantown, WV, and later at Parkersburg North Baptist Church until her retirement in 2018. She was a member of Little Hocking Evangelical Methodist Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother (MeeMaw), and great-grandmother, survived by her husband Edward Beatty; children, Barbara Lynn Morris (Gary) of Boulder City, NV, Robert LeRoy Feathers (Pam) of Reedsville, WV, and Mark Edward Feathers (Tiffany) of Reedsville, WV; grandchildren, Melissa Morris (Jackson Wolfe), Nicholas Morris (Rachel), Jonathan Feathers, Jacob DeVall, and JoLynn Feathers; and great-grandchildren, Jack and Olive Morris. Barbara was also a cherished sister-in-law to Pam Rotella (Mike) of Cleveland, OH. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Donald LeRoy Feathers; sister, Betty Jo Tennant and her husband Clarence; granddaughter, Jessica LeeAnn Feathers; and nephews, Clarence Jr., Scott, and Jamie Tennant. Barbara cherished her annual "Cousin Weekend," a tradition filled with themed dinners and games, with her beloved cousins Carol, Joy, Donna, Marlene, and Kathy. Honoring Barbara's wishes, a memorial service will be held at a later time in Little Hocking, OH. In appreciation of the impeccable care she received, contributions can be made to Evergreen Assisted Living in Morgantown, WV, in lieu of flowers. The family expresses their appreciation to the staff at Evergreen Assisted Living, especially to Barbara's nieces Chrystal Wilmoth and Kelsey McClung. Barbara's kindness and warmth will be missed by all who knew her. Hastings Funeral Home has been entrusted with cremation arrangements.
